I must be on a million mailing lists. I’ve opted in for so many different programs that promise me that it will help me build my list and that in turn automatically puts me on their mailing lists and all it does is give them access to pitch products to me that will make them even more money.

It’s a vicious cycle. But so far it hasn’t helped me one damn bit and I’m certainly not purchasing any more products or programs.

Having said that, the best of the lot is the two Commission Blueprint guys. Of all the things I’ve purchased, they deliver in spades.

I’m at a crossroads here.

Trying to figure out which road to take. Not an easy decision.

You know the old cliche, that the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.

Well, using that criterion, I guess I’m certifiable.

It’s not that I do the same things — well, sometimes I do — but it’s that I do variations of the same things.

Which I suppose, is doing the same thing with a different shirt on, so to speak.

So now I have to chart a new course, figure out a new way.

As I said, not easy.

One thing I do know. There are no easy ways, no easy answers, nothing easy about any of it.

Which is okay. Just know that going in.

But sometimes I do wish the road would level off a little, maybe even get on a slope that goes downhill —- in a good way. Or at least get it so the wind is at my back for a change.

Just thought I’d share some angst with you.

I haven’t written anything over the holidays. Quite frankly, I was too lazy. Happens sometimes. Just couldn’t motivate myself.

Hard to believe ’09 is a day from being history. Kind of scary how time and as a consequence life, zips by so fast.

Every time I’ve wished someone a Happy New Year I’ve received the same reply, “Well, let’s hope it’s a better year than ’09.” Obviously its been a tough year for just about everyone. Thing is, the ‘new year’ is just a label. True, it’s a measurement of the earth completing a revolution around the sun, but then again where is the starting point? It’s just an arbitrary placement. It could be placed on July 8th just as easily and effectively as January 1st. Nothing physically changes in the universe, just things we change; calendars, check dates, ages on driver’s license, etc. The New Year is an invention by man I think to signify a new beginning.

I do disagree however, that it’s the start of a new decade. I’ve always started counting to ten with one, not with zero. Wasn’t the year 2000 the end of the 1900′s? So to me, 2011 will be the start of another decade.

Wow, sorry, I got a bit carried away here. My — what’s the word, bloviating? — doesn’t dampen my wishes that one and all have a Happy New Year. That seems a rather tame wish. Happy New Year should always be accompanied by an exclamation point. I think because it’s the one wish that’s shouted. Usually over the din of horns and/or guns and firecrackers.

So, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I trust you heard that.

I don’t know if you’ve seen those ads, “Mom discovers free teeth whitening system.” Or something to that effect. Various products are available and all purport to send you a teeth whitening kit for free. Just put in your name, email address, mailing address, etc.

Before you do anything, make sure you read their policy statement. Many of these offers ask you to enter your e-mail address and credit card info for “shipping and handling”. Without realizing it, you have inadvertently signed up for their product to be shipped to you on a monthly basis, with your credit card being charged every month. I learned this the hard way. On one they had signed me up for a weight loss ebook membership (web site of the same name) which I would never have signed up for since if anything I’ve been trying to gain weight. This company is called “Insider Secrets” out of Aurora, Colorado. Of course complaining does you no good as by clicking on the accept button to get your “free” teeth whitening kit, you signed up for their membership. IT’S A SCAM, pure and simple.

Like most things I’ve done in life, I learned this the hard way and it cost me a couple of hundred bucks over a period of three months. To say I was pissed off is the understatement of the decade.

Anyway, just wanted to warn you and give you the benefit of my own experience.

Yesterday I added a link to get the Kindle, the amazing ebook that’s perfect for those on the move, especially if you’re traveling. Was October 28th really the last time I posted? Where does time go?

In my defense I’ve been really busy, which is a good thing I suppose.

Now Thanksgiving is just around the corner, (in the USA anyway) and right after that, the Christmas Holidays! Of course that’s no surprise as the stores have had their decorations up since before Halloween.

Should I be concerned? My accountant is leaving for Europe. I assume it’s a well earned vacation as he puts up with me.
